They’re not really scientists. They’re one of those clever new wave, indie rock bands who built a dedicated following through their live shows and self released albums. Eventually Virgin Records noticed and in 2006, the power pop trio released their major label debut With Love and Squalor, which went gold. Tours with bands like the Kaiser Chiefs followed. In 2007, they lost their drummer, but added a keyboardist to their guitar and bass sound. In 2008, WAS released their 4th studio album Brain Thrust Mastery, with drums by Garrett, whoever that is. Brain Thrust features the songs “Impatience”, “Chick Lit”, ”Lethal Enforcer”, and “After Hours.” Their songs have been featured in several TV shows and movies, including the soundtrack of Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist with Project Jenny Project Jan, The Real Tuesday Weld, Rogue Wave, and Richard Hawley. Akiva Schaffer of Lonely Island has directed several of their videos.
