About Guns N Roses

Despite losing most of the members from their time as the "World's Most Dangerous Band " (only Axl remains from their "Paradise City", "Welcome to the Jungle" days) and nearly 2 decades between releases, Guns n Roses remains one of the most relevant rock bands today. GnR exploded out of the gutters of L.A. in 1987 with Appetite for Destruction, one of the highest selling debut albums of all time. Axl started the trend of delaying albums and firing band members with Use Your Illusion I & II, which came out 4 years later in 1991. And we thought that was a long time. Songs like "Civil War", "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" and "November Rain" made them the first and only band to have 2 albums debut at #1 and #2 on the Billboard charts. In 2008, Dr. Pepper promised a free soda to everyone in the US if Axl released the long awaited Chinese Democracy. Maybe this was the extra motivation he needed. Finally after 14 years, 13 million dollars, numerous internet leaks, and firing all the original band members, the album finally was released with tracks including "Better", "Catcher in the Rye", and "IRS."
