Demi Lovato got her start with that purple dinosaur on the show Barney & Friends. While she had several guest spots, she is best known for role in the film Camp Rock with the Jonas Brothers. Stating that acting was more of a hobby, she pursued her true passion: music. With support from Disney and the Jonases her first album debuted at #2 on the Billboard charts(second to Metallica). On her second album, aptly titled Here We Go Again, she tried to move away from the Jonas Brothers sound, employing songwriters Jon McLaughlin and John Mayer. This resulted in a move away from bubblegum pop and into more mature rock, Jack Johnson type singer/songwriter, and even flirtations with world music. Here We Go Again debuted at #1. Besides the Jonas Brothers, she’s also performed with Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez. Demi also claims to be a huge metalhead, a fan of black metal bands like Children of Bodom and metalcore like Underoath.
