Products & Services For Mobile Carriers

Flycell has lots of experience providing services to Mobile Carriers, including carriers in Europe, Latin America and the Middle East. Depending on the level of maturity of each mobile market, the needs of carriers vary and Flycell offers tools, products, and services to cover each of those situations.

Tools

Messaging Platform
Flycell has developed a custom-made platform called VAS, which allows us to offer the most innovative services in the current mobile market as well as to have the flexibility to incorporate new technologies as they emerge. The VAS Platform enables Media Companies to create, manage and charge for content containing value-added services for mobile subscribers. The design of the VAS Platform is based on a modular architecture to facilitate the quick creation and delivery of new value added services. The VAS Platform supports content delivery across messaging infrastructure from multiple vendors, simultaneous connectivity to multiple SMSCs and MMSCs, as well as intelligent routing and load balancing.

Content Management
The content aggregation and management component allows content providers to easily integrate multimedia content from a variety of sources. The content management tool allows the end user to create and manage their personal multimedia content and organize the navigation folder tree in different categories. Also, the database is designed to enable service administrators to manage the provisioning of content from providers into the VAS service environment. The supported content types include among others:

  • Audio and Ringtones:; AMR, Wav, Mid, etc.
  • Pictures, Logos, Wallpapers
  • JAVA objects (Games and Video clips)
  • Video Clips

Products and Services

Voting
Our customers can use this format to launch a mobile voting service. Users respond to an ad that encourages them to participate by sending a message to a short number with their vote. The user receives a response including information about the vote (e.g. "37% of the people share your opinion"). Price per message sent can vary depending on the vote.

Quiz
End users participate in a quiz and those who respond correctly have the possibility of winning a prize. Users only need to send a text message to start the process and start answering questions. The number of questions in the quiz and price per message is determined depending on the type of quiz.

MMS Newsletter
This newsletter consists of subscription based service that users sign up for to receive picture messages on a specific topic periodically. The service can be configured to be "time based" (e.g. daily cartoon) or "event based" (e.g. baseball scores) and users are offered clear directions on how to subscribe or cancel the service. Depending on the carrier, if MMS service is still not available, the service can be modified to allow for the messages to be sent through Wap Push.

Mobile Chatting
This service is a powerful community builder allowing people to anonymously chat with each other and make new friends quickly. The user needs to register by messaging a key word to a short code to enter this virtual community and in very little time they can start to chat with others by simply replying to messages received. The data required for the registration can be personalized depending on the service, and the system allows users to search other people of a certain profile by either using a generic search or by using a specific parameter (example: search age). All commands are executed by sending key words to short code numbers.

Xplayer
This is an end-to-end solution which provides streaming and downloading of any type of content to mobile phones. The solution is based on a Client Server architecture, where the server is the Flycell's VAS Platform, and it is available with a content protection feature (DRM solution). Xplayer allows users to browse a content catalogue, select the preferred object, preview it and finally purchase it. Also, clients can sign up to different subscription services available within the catalogue (for example; sports newsletters, financial news or a daily horoscope). The number of items in the menu, sub-categories, and content items can be configured to meet the client's needs.

Mobile Portals
Flycell has developed mobile portals for a variety of carriers. Subscribers can access a wide range of services including content downloads, news and other messaging applications. Each portal is custom made to fit the carrier's existing and projected needs.

Mobile Blog
Users can create their own messaging service by buying a package of messages to communicate with a small community. Once the user purchases the block of messages and selects the users included in that community through a website, he/she can communicate with them by sending text messages. Those messages will trigger messages to be sent to all the members of the community. The user buying the package can either pay per message sent or pay a package valid for a period of time.

SMS Gateway
Consists of an inbox where messages are received and reviewed before they are sent to be used within a larger mobile service. For example, if Flycell provides a service to a TV channel where text messages sent by viewers are being shown on the screen, the SMS Gateway allows Flycell to review all incoming messages and eliminate those that contain inappropriate or offensive language.
