One of the most successful bands to follow in Green Day’s pop-punk wake, Blink 182, with their friendly simple melodies, familiar lyrics about love and growing up, and toilet humor created a cult following that lasted them through the 90s and into their reformation in the late 00s. Enema of the State , their 3rd album, and first recorded with Travis Barker, formerly of The Aquabats, was produced by Jerry Finn (who also worked with Sum 41) sold over 15 million copies worldwide, due largely to huge amounts of airplay on MTV. Tours with No Doubt and appearances on The Simpsons followed. After tensions arose in the band, the three members split into two groups: Angels and Airwaves and +44, with both groups finding moderate success. After Barker was involved in a near-fatal plane crash, the three members met again and from there, a reunion grew with new tours involving Weezer and Fall Out Boy.
