After an injury ended his football career in high school, Ace set his sights on the next best thing: hip-hop. After meeting DJ Khaled outside a Florida radio station, Ace was signed and would go on to appear on Khaled’s “Out Here Grindin’” with Trick Daddy, Lil’ Boosie, Plies, Young Jeezy, and others. In 2008, Ace released Gutta, which debuted in Billboard’s Top 40 and featured R&B and hip hop artists like Lloyd, Flo Rida, Juelz Santana, Brisco, and Rick Ross. Just 7 months later, he released his second album Ruthless with guest spots from The Dream, Jeremih, Jazmine Sullivan, and Birdman, and production from The Inkredibles (Capone-N-Noreaga, Fat Joe) and The Runners (Jim Jones, Beanie Sigel, Girlicious). Ace was named as one of Freshmen of ’09 by XXL magazine along with Charles Hamilton, Wale, Asher Roth, and more.
